ANDREA FOODS HISTORY
In 1949, Andrea Savignano, born in Pescopagano {Potenza}, Italy,
a region of Basilicata, entered the port of New York harbor with
a heart full of dreams. He married
his childhood sweetheart, Dora, and together they began their life
in America.
In 1964, they opened a small neighborhood salumeria (Italian
delicatessen) making homemade pasta products. The company incorporated
in 1977 when demand for the products grew and distribution spread
throughout the New York metropolitan area.
Throughout the years it has acquired state of the art machinery
for production and quick freezing processes in order to serve its
customers with optimum efficiency and quality.
Andrea Foods manufactures a wide variety of pasta products from
its classic line of ricotta cheese filled ravioli, manicotti, stuffed
shells, lasagna, etc. to the new addition to its product line, a
gourmet line of pasta products. Some of these include four cheese
ravioli, spinach & roasted garlic ravioli, cavatelli with broccoli
and portabello mushroom & wine ravioli, just to name a few.
The
company attributes its success, in an otherwise competitive market,
to its dedication to quality, a credo from which it has never diverted
and is dedicated to preserve.
Andrea and Dora have passed the torch to their son and daughter
to continue the dream and are just as dedicated to manufacturing
for consumers a quality product at a fair price.
This dedication to quality and value has been the key to the
success of Andrea Foods as well as the loyalty of its customers
who recognize its efforts.
We, at Andrea Foods, thank our customers for believing in our
past and having faith in our future.
